    Cherry Hope Chest

Here is my latest project. A cherry hope chest for my granddaughter. It has a cedar bottom and ceder drawer bottoms.
The drawers are poplar with cherry fronts. It is finished with six coats of Waterlox.

Charlie, a beautiful piece. Your granddaughter will treasure it! I like the hydraulic struts for safety.

    Beautiful work.

(Can I borrow it for a couple of years? ...or at least until I finish the chest I need to make for my niece?)

Charlie, lovely piece, I imagine it will be treasured and last the rest of her life. That's what family made furniture is all about.

The struts I found were chrome and silver. I could coats of spray paint fixed that. They still look modern but nessessay for safety.

The struts I found were chrome and silver. Two coats of spray paint fixed that. They still look modern but necessary for safety.
