And one more spoon - PIC

Here's a photo of my 2nd attempt at carving a spoon. It's made out of Olive wood with a Walnut oil finish. I was planning to use Olive oil but was worried that it might turn rancid. I used an axe to rough it out and then a carving knife/hook knives to finish it. It's not perfect and has a slight twist in the handle but overall I'm pleased with the result. I'll try another one as soon as I heal from the cuts and scrapes.

Thanks Tony! A nice compliment from someone that has done some nice spoon work. I finished a couple more spoons and roughed out another. The latter will be more creative with a wiggly handle that follows the grain. It is dried Walnut so I expect a little harder to carve.

It can become an addiction, not that that's a bad thing. I've been loving making handles that curve in two directions. Be sure to post pictures of your next ones.
