Dust collector upgrade and extra part...

    Hi,

Can anyone tell me if there’s any advantage in integrating the round part of the dust collector for an upgrade as opposed to just linking the output directly to a canister filter?

    In pictures, that would be

    or

    Thanks in advance!

The "or" picture is not specific (page full-o-pics) but, if you are asking if the round collar on a bagger with a separate motor does anything, it often provides a circling path that provides a small amount of separation by slowing the air to allow the heavier spoil to fall out of the stream and into the bag.

So there would be no advantage in using it for an upgrade if I use a separator, then.

It would save you from having to build a box for your filter.
