    Doctor's Woodshop Pens Plus

    Hi All,
Just wondering if anyone I using this finish and if so does it last longer than friction polish?
    Thanks,
    Jeff

  2. I’ve had good success with it.

You might try a test. make a test pen and use both polishes next to each other on the lower piece of wood. Carry it around and use it for a few months.

  4. I should have said, since the Pen’s plus also has a Walnut oil base, it penetrates the wood a bit. I have used both Myland’s friction polish and Hut Crystal Coat in the past. It is my considered experience that the Pen’s Plus is better and last’s longer.

I've had horrible success with any friction finish. Had a pen returned that felt like the pen was covered with goo. The gal used a lot of hand lotion and the friction finish was not up to the task. Only CA after that. I consider my work will last a lifetime, or at least attempt to make it last a long time. Any friction style finish is not up to those standards.
