No magic/nothing special - other than stick with it, even when it seems like it's not working.

Fitness Pal dot com is a good start. It helps you track your daily calorie intake.
I gained weight at 1600 calories a day, working out at the gym at least 3 times a week. Used Fitness Pal like a religious bible and still only got down 30 pounds and started gaining weight even at 1400 calories per day.

Something you really have to watch out for is the conversion of fat to muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat, so, it might appear that you are either gaining weight or not losing any weight - when in fact, you are losing fat but putting on muscle.

Having said that - - everyone's metabolism is going to be different & the amount you lose is going to vary widely - all I can relate is what worked for me,which is simple portion control and burning up more daily calories than I take in.

Good luck and hang in there!

Yes, yes it does! Sorry to hear that your weight loss results from tough circumstances.
