PPS type cups for gravity gun

I have three purple HF guns and a Fuji MPX 30. The gravity cups fit both guns. I would like to try the PPS type disposable cups if there is any advantage to using them in my situation, which is shooting WB finishes or shellac. They seem to be more common in auto body use. Anyway, there seems to be a lot of pieces to the system and I haven't got the slightest idea where to start.

    Thanks

I don't know those guns, but you will need the right adapters. There are plenty of youtube videos that explain the system. I wouldn't want to be without it, after using it. The big advantage is ease, and quickness of cleanup. Once you get past the initial setup cost, it's not bad to keep it going.

I'm still using the original system, but if I was getting set up now, I'd use the 2.0 system:

You only need a few parts. First you need an adapter to fit the male thread that your cups thread onto. https://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/company-...3219713&rt=rud Then you need to decide which size cup you want to use. https://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/company-...3223466&rt=rud Last, you need liners and lids to fit that cup. https://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/company-...94857497&rt=r3 You can buy packs of 50 lids and liners. I'm cheap and am still using the same 5 lids/liners I got with the gun. I clean them after use rather than throw them out. They are pretty durable and with the WB finishes I normally use it takes only a minute or so to clean the liners and lids. But that's the nice part of the PPS system, you have options.

You will love the PPS system. Even with an unpressurized PPS cup you can spray at any angle. Can't do that with a normal gravity gun. I have a pressurized cup, the H/O, and it has the added advantage of being able to spray much higher viscosity materials through a smaller N/N set. Isn't your Fuji gun pressurized? If it is you definitely want the H/O cup. Even if it's not, you can use the H/O cup on non pressurized guns. You just hook up an additional air line and mini regulator to pressurize the cup, when desired.
