    Hi John.
Happy Birthday to a terrific turner and artist!

Every time I look at the clamshell hollow form and the ogee bowl it brings back great memories of the week spent taking your class to make them at the John C Campbell School.

Happy Golden Anniversary (of your 20th birthday)!

I gained lots of inspiration and knowledge from you and the rest of the crew that was active on SMC about 8 yrs ago when I started turning.

Thanks, guys!! Getting ready to head to the woods with one of our grandsons to see if he can get a chance at a nice buck!

Dave, next year will be my 10th year turning and it has been a fun ride. Steve, Ken and Keith recall all the ribbing I got over claiming all I wanted to do was to get a lathe to turn furniture legs. When I finished that table in October 2009, except for one dining room table for our daughter, that was the end of my furniture building!! The pull of the vortex is strong and the resistance weak. Of course, that was a few thousand dollars ago, too.

Happy birthday, John. Only weeks away from the year you will be 70 1/2 and have to start taking the REMD. That is a real milestone!
