Aluminum oxide finish

Just had a pre stained hardwood floor put down. It is finished with Aluminum Oxide rather than poly. I have a step that will have to butt up to the flooring. I had the flooring company match me the stain for the white oak. Most likely I will just use satin poly. However, I can not find any place local to buy AO finish. The paint stories I have went to or called don't have a clue about what I am asking for. Should I just go with the poly and forget about the AO?

You should be able to buy Varathane Crystal Clear Floor Finish locally. It has aluminum oxide in it. I'm sure there are others; this is just the one I remember.
