    It's fun to build trusses that way. Built them for my Dad 's garage a number of years ago. I still chuckle when I think of that project. I measured and ordered the material for the whole thing. On the day the lumber arrived, Dad called and said there was way too much material. He said not to worry, I have a few other things I need to build. I rechecked my calculations to verify. Nearing completion , we were short a half dozen 2x4's. He cold not believe it took that much material.
