Need help with Jorgensen quick release vice

My jorgensen quick release vice has always worked perfectly for the past 15 years. However now it does not. I can't figure it out as it only has a roller nut that needs to be placed in the correct position for it to work but the nut is now loose and will not stay in position. Has anyone seen this problem?

Unless you've disassembled it (and put it back together incorrectly), it sounds as though it was working fine, then suddenly wasn't.

my guess is that the brass insert is worn.

Mine has never worked as advertised. I just reach under the vise when it is loose and rotate the nut counter-clockwise to release it.

Thanks for the responses. To me it is still a mystery why it works great for years and just stops working one day. At this point, not worth my time troubleshooting as I wanted to sell it but I will just give it away.

Actually, I am selling all my tools to go full time RV. I was hoping to sell the vice if there was an easy fix. That vice has been great and worked well until it stopped working.
