    Leland Cypress?

Is Leland Cypress any good for turning? Some friend had a big one go down with Hurricane Micheal last night.

    Similar to cook pine?
    Where did I put that?

I've never turned it, but the Wood Database indicates this - Common Uses: Utility lumber, fence posts, musical instruments (flamenco guitars), furniture, boatbuilding, and turned objects.

  3. Rob, try it you may like it. Is resinous, pale yellow, and frequently has voids or “character” marks from branches. We have plenty in GA as it is used as a privacy screen between houses.

Enjoy! Tom in GA, with an unlimited supply of Leland Cypress.
