"Can Filter' brand any use in woods shop

At a local junk shop I saw a "Can Filter" no model number, heavier then a standard dust filter. From their site Is see they are charcoal filter for cleaning air. Can I assume they would quickly clog with sawdust and be plugged forever? I think they would be used to filter organic vapors in air like in a spray booth?

I suppose I could cut a hole in the sealed end and use it as a muffler into the filter bag if it was cheap enough.

I think you are right that it is a vapor filter and will not work with dust.

Bill, woodworking is not the only use for dust collectors and filters. They are commonly used to collect and filter air on automated welding machines in a production environment. It is possible that the filter you saw was intended for such a use.
