QSWO Mission Style King size bed project completed

Design based on a Stickley design and adapted to meet our needs. Finished following Jeff Jewitt's technique with Transtint medium brown dye, followed by General Finishes Seal a Cell, then GF Antique Walnut gel stain, three coats of GF Satin ArmRSeal, and paste wax.

Well received by my wife who has been patiently waiting for me to finish the bed. She has requested matching nightstands next.

Great looking bed. I agree with your wife on the nightstands.

Absolutely stunning. QSWO and rift sawn white oak is absolutely beautiful.

Sleep well. That is a great bed. Don't forget to show us the night stands.

Very nice Jeff. King size beds use a lot of wood. How did you join the rails to the headboard & footboard?

6” bed rail brackets from Rockler. Routed mortises with an edge guide with plunge router and chopped ends square by hand. Really solid connection.
