    Yup, what Glenn said. I've been using the same pint can of Japan drier for at least ten years. It was just whatever was available at Home Depot.

    Naptha is (for all intents and purposes) the same as Coleman Fuel or old school white gas. I occasionally use it for cleaning brushes and other surfaces where I don't want an oily film, but I feel it flashes off too fast for general use in thinning oil based products.

    Note: If you mean Waterlox Original, it is a "fully cooked" tung oil phenolic resin varnish. It is similar to a Spar Varnish, but less oil is used in the formulation. It is a medium oil varnish, whereas spar varnish is a long oil varnish. Adding raw tung oil will create an oil/varnish blend, similar to so-called Danish Oils.
