    Bicycle Taxidermy

Had time for one other small project this year. Been wanting to play around with different stains after seeing one of the Fine Woodworking articles. Here is my take on Bicycle Taxidermy. The real purpose was to design a bicycle rack for my tri-bike (where I've been spending most of my time), but it was fun to experiment and I like how it turned out. The pictures dont quite do it justice.

Unfortunately the seat and handle bars covered up some of the nice grain and color fade....

    Great color fading.

    Nice!

I've always regretted that I didn't hit upon the idea of preserving my first 10 speed thusly (the one I was riding when I got hit by a car on the first day of summer vacation when I was 14).
