Thread: a bathroom vanity

    a bathroom vanity

We're going to be renovating the bathroom soon (new vanity, granite, paint job and accessories) so I volunteered to make the first one. Here's the progress so far.

The case is made with 20mm baltic birch and the face with yellow popular. I'm pretty much following Norm's procedure with this (dados, glue, and securing the face with biscuits).

The inset door was made on the table saw. The measuring was a little finicky, but I think I got it to a pretty close fit. I still have to clean and sand it, and I'm hoping the paint will hide that tiny gap.

Very nice work! I love the door design, too.

Looks good. I've done 2.5 bathrooms so far with one to go. I have not made a vanity yet - didn't take the time. But I've made a couple storage cabinets I couldn't buy. What will the finish be? I sprayed a tinted water borne on the last cabinet and it worked well.
