What would you do with these? 200+ year old mahogany

The storms damaged some 200+ year old mahogany trees and they had to be removed. What would you make with these?

Are they urs? Darn shame they were cut like that. I could find plenty to do with them in my guitar work.

Malcolm, I have a slab of similar mahogany I obtained about 16 years ago in Jamaica - a chain sawn slab from a tree cut building the new road from Mo Bay to Negril.

Still saving it for a future musical instrument project.

That's cool. I have travelled that road many times pre and post construction. Your mahogany is most likely Cuban Mahogany. It should age to a very deep reddish-brown.

It’s a pipe dream until the wood is cut and dried.

I'd have it sawn and dried. Then, I'd build the miniature highboy I've always wanted to do (about 3 ft tall).

    Could make some nice woodturnings.

I'm running low on true mahogany, still have plenty of smaller sizes, some cuban, and a bunch of sapele kindamahogany.

I'd build me a 'Hurricane Desk'. Maybe a little bit like the Prez' desk.

Wish I could remember the name of it. Reliant?

If that's Cuban mahogany, I'd saw it, dry it and then sell it at auction on eBay. Genuine Cuban mahogany brings an amazing price.

Go into the world and do well. But more importantly, go into the world and do good.

I would cut them and dry them and call them George.
