    Giant Octopus Carving

I've only dabbled a little in wood carving, enough to really appreciate the work that went into this one. This fellow, Jeffrey Samudosky of JMS Wood Sculpture in Gig Harbor Washington turned a fallen redwood tree into this masterpiece. I know we have a wood carving category (and the moderators can move it if they want) but thought more of us woodworkers could see and appreciate it here.

That's neat. It always amazes me how guys can look at a piece of wood and see and object "waiting to be released". I sure can't.

What an incredible masterpiece! I wonder how long it took to do that. What talent! What perseverance!

I saw this piece in person last year at AWFS and it is absolutely epic!
