    Entrance Benches finished

    Full build thread here

    Slightly figured British Columbia Broad-leaf Maple with Watco Natural oil and lacquer. Leather seat..

    The most highly figured Walnut board I've had the pleasure to work with, Watco Black Walnut oil with lacquer top coat.

    Very stylish benches, Don. Nice job on the transition from round to square on the posts. I also like the platform seat and the arm profile. Were these commissioned ?

    Thanks Yonak !

    I built the benches on spec, the idea of the hard edge on the side of the arm rests and the transition from round to square were two details I just had to get out of my system !

    So far I've had one nibble on the maple bench and although I could use the cash I wouldn't mind keeping the walnut one, I'll never find another board that figured without paying big bucks

    Very fine design and execution. They look really good. At first glance I thought the front of the walnut bench was rough sawed, but closer examination revealed that it was highly figured.
