    Fantastic job on that. My hat is off to you.

    It's pretty easy to outline the process... A lot more difficult and time consuming to actually accomplish it....

    I know the final re-coat was a pain - but it turned out well. If you decide to go back and level it and polish it out - you can... It's the same basic process - just be gentle and don't start off with super coarse sandpaper.. Maybe start with 220 or 300.. You need to start with about 0.030" of dry finish coat so you can reliably level and polish it without constantly burning through. You will probably end up with 0.005"-0.010" of finish thickness if you take your time starting from around 0.030"... That will also give you room for future polishing to touch up the occasional hazy spot. It sounds like a ton of finish - but believe me - you go right through it quick.
