In my experiments to come up with a new design for the wings of my angel ornaments I made a sort of wide open yo yo and then cut it into wing shapes. Came out pretty well. Needs improvement but that will come on the next one.

Now that's an interesting solution! How did you cut them off the disc?Power or by hand?

I use a scroll saw but have done it by hand with a jewelers saw before.

Here is a smaller version that i did as a test. I opened the wings up more and like that better.
