I have both skew rabbet planes and the small plow plane. I treasure all three planes.

I finally found and read the manual and I now see how the knicker is adjusted. I had it all set correctly this morning going by my own judgement but now I know how to readjust the knicker, not sure why I would want to but I can. Thank you.

Normally you don't once you set it right. But i sharpen my nicker a lot because it is used heavily on crossgrain cuts and after repeated sharpening, I had to reset the nicker a tad.

I made a tool similar to Derek’s, and it solves the issue with the fence slipping. I made mine from Bubinga to match my plane tote and knob. Based on the ‘nut saver’ designed by A gentleman named Bern Carpenter in the UK. I believe he also sells his own, if you would prefer purchasing one.
