    WTB: Curved/Bent Bowl Carving Gouge

Took a great bowl carving workshop with David Fisher at the Greenwood Festival.
Now I need to fill in some important tools that I never needed before.
Looking for bent, sometimes called curved, carving gouges NOT turning gouges. Ideally, #5 sweep about 25 to 40 mm wide. Might consider other sweeps and sizes.
Karlsson, Pfeil, or other quality makers. Not interrested in junk or project tools. Please let me know what you have with size, brand, and price. A couple of pictures would help move things along.
    Thanks, Ron.

Still have my fingers crossed that there are some carvers out there
who have more gouges than they need
and are willing to admit it

My green wood is drying out.
Any bent gouges out there looking for a home?

Ron, in the event you donít get any hits, I do have a suggestion on Pfiel gouges. Woodcraft apparently is the sole distributor in the US for them, but I have ordered from the Canadian dealer and even with shipping the prices are much better.

    Hi John,
    Thanks for getting in touch.
Seems like folks who do bowl carving are hanging on to their tools.
One member is actually lending me some Karlsson gouges to try, but he isn't selling them and Karlsson tools are back ordered everywhere.
Pfiel gouges get very positive reviews so they are propbably what I will want to buy. If you Canadian source has better prices than Woodcraft, I would love to know about them.
    Thanks,
    Ron
