Foot-powered mortise machine

I have recently watched The Woodwrights Shop, and St. Roy talked about foot-powered machinery. The one that caught my eye the most was the mortising machine. I've already made a foot-powered lathe and a drill press, and I'm working on a table saw. Has anyone here ever used/seen one of these mortisers? I would like to know how the mechanism on it works. Thanks y'all.

I would guess they work on the same principle as the foot powered drill. They just have a good stiff head and a way to retain the mortise bit...
