Many high-end knives have intricately engraved blades engraved/marked via laser.

-- I lasered this blade not long after acquiring the old 25w ULS (aka New Hermes Optima) in 2002, I was still learning to laser engrave,
and just learning Cermark- this was a white knuckle job to be sure!
That laser was almost 6 years old then, and my BIL engraves wood boxes in it about 8 hours every night. It's still fitted with the original lens

-the knife on the right, while the engraving's not as fancy, the knife is! Steve Ramos lives about 2 miles from me,
just a young guy, takes him about 6-8 months to make one of his knives, I've put his signature on every one he's made...

That is some awesome work Kev. Thanks for sharing it.

Bert.... you need to get out of the shop some my man. There is alot going on in the engraving world outside of cups and trophies.

Trey - Do you know if there are going to be any demonstrations or learning events targeted at lasering blades? Are you going to have a table/booth selling anything?

I very much doubt it Doug. I went last year and there is just ALOT of blades and other blade related stuff. I would say for laser guys, it just more of a networking thing. I will say that the best thing is the people watching.
