    Machinist/Engineering square - recommendations

Hello, I'm looking into getting a set of machinist squares that don't break the bank but are decent.

    What do you guys use?

Look for a PEC blemished on ebay, they have a 3 pc set for about $65 right now and if you just want the square its about $32. Great deal on a very good tool. I also have their double square, another good tool.

Harry Epstein also sells the PEC seconds, I’ve bought a ‘seconds’ double square and combination square from them. I know they have PEC machinists squares, but I don’t have any experience with them. PEC stuff is nicely machined, and, in my opinion, well worth the money.

I bought an inexpensive set from Little Machine Shop. I can't find anything wrong with them.

I bought several at Harry Epsteins too. If you're ever in KC, its worth a visit to their store - its like a old hardware store from 1900.
