    Box of Fancy Pine

Start off with a view of the front..
    front view.jpg
Resawn from some fancy grained Pine..
    corner view.jpg
Box joints and the molding were done with hand tools..
    closed lid.jpg
Wild grain, not a splotch, this was a two board glue-up. Brass latch and hinges..

Open the lid, to find a tray, and a false bottom...lift each out..

    And find more storage.
Golden Oak stain, with two coats Gloss Poly. 18" x 8-1/2" by 4-1/2" tall.
Tray has finger-grip grooves, cut with a gouge, and sanded smooth.

It has an interesting "vintage" look to it! Very nice!

The most expensive tool is the one you buy "cheaply" and often...

Yes! Looks like a real antique.....except the "original finish" has been removed;maybe a microscope will reveal original color. It's even got an idiosyncratic base moulding unavailable at any of the big box stores...impeccable proof of age!!
