So, just buff it with a soft cloth (or buffing wheel) or do you mean don't even bother to buff it at all?

I mean no reason to buff at all. That is, if you are happy with the sheen and texture.

OK, I'm back.....I had a few *ahem* minor setbacks, but was able to recover and the "Project" is now varnished with something like 6 or 7 coats (wiped on). I waited 24hrs between coats --when I wasn't repairing a mishap or two :-p --- and that seemed to work out pretty well. I'm satisfied with the appearance, and it is very smooth.

So how long should I wait for it to cure?...not dry, I mean really cure, because I'm going to be handling it quite a bit, and I prefer the finish to be pretty hard. Also I have to attach some hardware via screws (wood and machine) and I don't want the hardware to "dent" the finish, which I'm guessing would happen if it's not fully cured.

I live in Phoenix ---indoors humidity is about 20% (due to A/C running). So, wait a day? two days? three?
Again, thank you for your help and advice
