    I think best performance would be to run hose laying on floor, then either a hole cut in door, or, a "filler" panel of sorts about 10" or whatever high that is full width of door.

    All depends on your frequency of use and feelings about cutting hole in door.

    IF you choose to run up to attic, make SURE it is well vented... and even then
    I would not be happy injecting all that water vapor up there.

    If you cut a hole in the door I doubt if it will still be there in 217 years, unlike the one below. This was cut to allow a cat in and out. I believe it was closed up in the 1970's. Not quite 200 years after the cat died.
