Box - ongoing pursuit of veneer and stringing

This was a fun build using veneer and stringing. I ditched the hot iron method, spent the time flattening the veneer, and cold press glued the veneer between plattens and lots of clamps. Stringing was done with the Veritas router plane and inlay accessories.

Main body is solid walnut. Top is ambrosia maple and walnut veneers.

First attemp at setting hinges as well. Thanks to fellow creeker Mike Henderson for the tutorial on his website!

Really nice work. I'll have to check out that tutorial as your hinges look perfect.
