Cut Off End Splits?

I just brought home a pickup load of boards from a local sawyer. All the wood is rough cut (bandsaw mill) and has been air dried under tin for about 2 years, he says. I am putting these boards inside my woodworking shop now (concrete floor), stacking and stickering it. My question is whether now is the time to chop off the checking/splitting on board ends and seal the ends, or just leave as-is until I am ready to use it.

In case the dimensions/species makes a difference in the answer:

I have walnut slabs with one live edge, 3 inch thick, 6 foot long, 18-24 inches wide
I have walnut billets 3 inch thick, 6 foot long, 10 inches wide
I have cherry 1x boards 6-10 inches wide
I have white oak 1x boards 6-10 inches wide

I would not cut off until I am ready to use the wood.

Once the wood is dry there is no benefit to end sealing. Personally I would leave it as is until you need it.
