Porter Cable has gone downhill from the good ol' days when you knew you were buying a world class brand name that ranked up there with Elu, Delta, Dewalt, etc. I'm glad I bought all of my tools at the time they were still at their height!

I get the impression that Porter Cable replaced Black & Decker's "Firestorm" grade tools. They're still making 690 & 7518 routers though. I'm not a contractor but if I worked in parts of urban areas where things had a strong tendency to grow legs, I'd have second thoughts about having high quality high dollar tools on a job site.
