    Hi everyone, illuminati-black-card.jpg

Would anyone here happen to know where I can purchase anodized or laserable aluminum sheets. I need the sheet to be black and when laser engraved the artwork comes out gold or something close to it. Found some of these images on google , looking for results like this.
Also what is the main difference between laserable and anodized?

I am located in Canada so a supplier within Canada would be great.

    Thanks.

Sterling, where in Canada are you?

Yes they do have laserable aluminum black that engravers gold (just confirmed with order desk). Part # DM9852-2KEG

    Here are some other suppliers:

Trotec laser Canada: Part # 1095-1

    Tromart (JDS line): ALUM354

    Marco Awards Group: H116-21........( 0.020") and H112-21 (0.018")

Note:This it is not anodized aluminum in case you asked for anodized.

for business cards, if you don't want them like razor blades and rigid enough to not bend in a wallet, you need at least .030" thick, preferably .040" thick, 60 or 70 series aluminum. The cards in the pic are a very flat matte finish, and the lettering color leans more to a copper-bronze than gold. I've never seen any off-the-shelf material like it...

Hi Tony, I am located in Montreal

The laserable aluminum that you mentioned are they black on both sides? The ones I have found are only black on one side and very thin.

Back to looking at the pictures in the original post- those examples are on much more 'substantial' material than any trophy style material... The 'John Smith' card appears to be at least .030" thick, its edges are black, indicating the matte black coating was applied after the cards were die-stamped or laser cut. The card material, no clue but could be brass plated steel, or actual brass or bronze. Pretty sure it was not made from sheet stock that was simply sheared, lasered and popped into a corner-rounder afterward. No clue if these card blanks were custom ordered or they're 'readily available' somewhere. A decent sheet metal shop could produce these, but unless you need hundreds the end-cost per each might get a bit up there...
