played chauffeur for wife yesterday as she went shopping. We stopped at Kohl's dept store and when I was walking through the Kitchen dept a rather large wooden bowl caught my eye. It was about 18 inches in diameter, made out of segmented acacia wood, but the wooden bowl's interior seemed to have been coated with a laminated layer of ivory colored melamine or some other tough plastic.. It was not the typical wooden salad bowl at $39 on sale.

Anyone familiar with how that is done? Heat? epoxy, ? a thick CA?
