    Question about Anular Rings

Can anyone offer any insight into why the growth rings on the middle piece appear to be "wavy. It almost resembles "fleck" on QSWO. It seems that they could be related to the tree's location rather than a particular event. As far as I know, it's Douglas Fir.

It ended up becoming a leg for this cabinet.

I don't know, genetics? But I get boards like that, too, maybe 1-2%

Nice cabinet, and good use for that piece.

Some wood just grows that way. I've seen it more in conifers than hardwoods, Douglas fir in particular, which is what that looks like. Maybe it is a bark thing.
