    Amazing parallel parking

As we watched the Disney boat enter the harbor, we wondered how he was going to fit into that tight spot. Even with bow and stern thrusters (basically sideways facing propellers) this was quite impressive. Imagine parallel parking a skyscraper. As we walked Petra to school, I looked at Amy’s Jeep protruding into the street and said, “Maybe we need to get the Disney captain to help you park.” I don’t think she appreciated my humor.

It helps to have spotters at each end. I love to watch the docking when we go on a cruise.

That comment about your partner-in-crime's Jeep is going to get you sleeping in the shop...

Impressive. I can bang up a kayak.

We did see some impressive parallel parking in Paris a few years ago while enjoying a sidewalk cafe. I was positive the spot was too small for the guy's car. A half dozen bangs, screeches, and crunches later I was proven wrong.

I was there one week before the hurricane went through. Wouldn't let me check Tangelo however.

My buddy Vince does local motorcycle rides for a cruise that comes here periodically. Everyone brings their bike with them. Vince is the local ambassador for the tour company and does all the setup- local insurance, police escorts, etc. It's pretty cool. You take a cruise, and at each stop you get off with your own personal bike, and you ride around the island, stopping at the beach and somewhere local for lunch. I don't know what it costs, but I'm sure it ain't cheap!

Anyway, nice Jeep, and glad you came BEFORE the storm and not during or after, although you would have gotten a real E Ticket ride during. I know we've talked Jeeps before. I've lost count of how many I have owned- CJ5's CJ7's, Willys, etc.... plus a few Liberty's which don't really count in my book, but at least they have round headlights. :-)

And a fountain of Jeep knowledge too! Thanks to Jim I was able to score this Trailhawk months before the local dealers had any.

It turned out to be an excellent sand machine, as good or better than my last four jeeps. This is on the island that popped up just off Cape Hatteras last year. I understand the island is gone now so a repeat photo would be difficult!

As a guy who owns four boats, I'll bet a buck a very expensive GPS steering system is what parks that thing while the Captain finishes up his cup o' joe...

It guides them, but I doubt they enjoy their Joe until the lines are taught.

The really impressive part of the ship parking is what effect any wind has on those ships. They are basically big sails and even a light breeze has a massive impact on what happens. A two knot breeze can turn the CO's life into a nightmare if it is blowing in the wrong direction.
I am in love with Montana. For other states I have admiration, respect, recognition, even some affection, but with Montana it is love.... It seems to me that Montana is a great splash of grandeur....the mountains are the kind I would create if mountains were ever put on my agenda. Montana seems to me to be what a small boy would think Texas is like from hearing Texans. Montana has a spell on me. It is grandeur and warmth. Of all the states it is my favorite and my love.
