    Fireplace Mantle

    As usual, you guys inspired me to build something. A couple of very nice Fireplace Surrounds were posted here and reminded me that I needed to get to work.

    The mantle is QSWO with a walnut top and walnut accents. The veneer panels are QSWO tiger and white oak burl:

    Very well done. Love the wood and accents. After a project like that is done, you kind of think why did I wait so long to start....right?!

    Nicely executed, Todd. There's a lot to look at there. That burl is mesmerizing.

    Very nice. Having the pegs on a diagonal is a nice touch.

    Thanks for the kind words.

    And yes Phil, It should not have taken 20 years for me to replace the old boring mantle. However, my woodworking skills have improved some over time so the delay may have helped the quality.
