    The Volcano Bowl

    IMG_4913.jpg
Because....... I think there is a Volcano image in the wood grain!
15" Diameter. Black Locust with Black Walnut rim. I made it for a silent auction I will be donating it to, but the wife likes it!

Stunning looking piece of timber Mike. Thanks for sharing. Wish more people would post pictures of their work. Seeing pics of grain like this is what keeps me going. Never know what's hidden underneath the bark until you put a tool to it. Sort of like the prize in a Cracker Jack's box or getting a dollar coin card in a Mallo Cup.

Love it, but is that a hole in the bottom filled with black resin or something? Anyway really cool figure and bowl.

Ron - there was a void that I filled with epoxy and finely ground coffee for color and texture.

Beautiful bowl Mike. If it was me I would consider keeping it and turning another bowl for the auction.
