Our church had some things destroyed in the storms, and I was asked to replace them. One was a cross puzzle they use in children’s church. I was told that it needed to have a rough surface and to be painted purple. I immediately thought of a texture I had seen before done with a gouge. It came out much better than I expected. I don’t usually paint my work, but I love the purple and the textured surface looks great painted.
The purple has significance with the first Sunday in Lent, and there is a reason for there being six pieces to the puzzzle, and sadly I don’t know the specifics of why but I followed instructions!
