    What gauge is steel 1mm/0.039in Thickness

    Looking at tool boxes, One has a stated steel thickness of 1mm/0.039in Thickness. What gauge is that equivalent to?

    If galvanized, 20 gauge. If plain steel, between 20 and 19.

    Looks to be right around 20 gauge Dave. Here's a chart I found.

    20-19 is what I thought. Just thought it was kinda odd that it falls in between.

    If it is made overseas they may not use U.S. gauge sizing.
