    Dovetail Fun

Sometimes I just like to try things. I watched some videos of Kaare Loftheim, Phil Lowe and Frank Klausz cutting dovetails. I have been doing some full blind dovetails of late and trying to get a handle on pins first. The last picture is the first attempt. The other four are the corners of a box just to see if I could do it with only base lines marked and pencil used to mark the tails from the pins. No verticle markings those were be eye and the pin angles were by eye only. Took about an hour. I was pleased with the result. Good fun and I may be a pins first convert.

Thanks Steven. I was pleasantly surprised to see the fit right off the saw, which is what you see in the pictures. The whole thing started for me with full blind (secret) dovetails. I hope to improve my skills on those.
