I am running stile router bit- Fraud, brand new, on shaper with feeder. Wood is ash. After 6-7 pieces, I slowed down to stop my bit with every piece.
Check belt - very tight, check bit - tight too.
How to do this without stalling?
Thank you, Ed.

Slow down your feed rate.
Your bit is running 1/2 or less of designed rpm so slow down the feed rate to allow chip clearance. Do you have some chip extraction running either vac or dc?

Bill, I do have chip extraction.
Thank you, I am going to try with slowest speed rate.

I discover reason for my failure - bit failure. Carbides completely broken from stile bit - ouch.Freud bit - 2.jpgFreud bit - 1.jpg
Time to call Amazon.

Dang that's scary.
Pull up yer shirt to see if yer belly has any small punctures.
My Dad lived his life w a chunk of mushroomed chisel head in his belly.
I'd be on the phone directly w Freud real fast.

Mighty big hole there. You'll need a big board to be stable.
Typical frued carbide. I threw all mine away a couple years ago after loosing a chunk or two.
The bit failure might have been due to overfeeding it. Running it in shaper with a power feeder probably was not something it was designed for.
