    John Lucas award

Good friend John Lucas won an award for a woodturning at the TAW Symposium last week. (Tenn Association of Woodturners) John is one of the most creative woodturners I know.

He doesn't post here but some know him so I thought I'd show this. The piece is called "I Carried You".

John has done several pieces using goblets as people. This one came from a real life experience:

This piece is on the back cover of the last AAW Journal. He also has an article inside on making his unique little cube ornaments. He writes for More Woodturning too.

    Congratulations Sir Lucas!

What an incredible work of art as is the story behind it. A well earned award indeed! The essence of thought to hand.

I told John Lucas that I had tried to straighten the bent stem, but I could not do it at the show. Great work John, congratulations.
