    Stanley 49

I'm looking for some replacement blades for my Stanley 49. Does anyone know if the Lee Valley plow plane blade would work?
Or a source for new ones? I would like new ones rather than original ones.

Check out my thread about my Stanley 46. I posted a little mini-review of the blade set I got and the manufacturer (St. James Bay tool co.) also produces a reproduction set for the 49.

The basic answer is yes. Read here:

    http://www.supertool.com/StanleyBG/stan7.htm#num48

That starts with the #48. The shorter write up on the #49 is right below it.

One of the few planes still on my 'want list' is a #49.
