Anyone know where I might find plans for tenon makers. I need one for straight tenons for Windsor chairs. Thanks for any help.

The tenon taperer is made using the reamer. Make the reamer first.
I posted a thread on this recently.

Derek, I need one that makes straight tenons for the spindles.

You may like a hollow auger:

If you want to make your own, do a search on > round tenon cutter plans < to find what has been done before.
To my recollection there hasn't been a build thread on making one on SMC. It is down a way on my bucket list.

A tapered tenon cutter will cut straight tenons also. Just keep running the wood through the cutter and it will come out as a dowel the size of the small diameter at the exit of the cutter. The key to a smooth finish is to grind a slight camber on the end of the cutter where the tenon exits the tool. Google tapered tenon cutter and you'll find Tim Manney's tapered tenon cutter plans. Or you can spend a lot of money and order Ashem Crafts rounding planes from England. Bob
