    Low-fume Waterlox alternative ?

Hi, I'm making a coat/shoe rack for my entry-way. Since shoes may occasionally have some water before being placed on the rack, I'm looking for an easy-to-apply finish that has some water resistance.

For the majority of my projects, I use Danish Oil + Wipe-on Poly. For this project, I would normally use Waterlox but the fumes are way too bad to be used indoors as it is far too cold to apply in my unheated garage.

    Any recommendation?

Might try some of the water based polycrylics like Minwax or General Finishes market. Hard, quick drying, durable. They have come a long way . They look milky on application, but look great after drying.

Polyurethane is a reasonable choice. Even Waterlox stops smelling after it cures.

I agree with Jerry. For your application, any good WB poly/acrylic should provide more than adequate performance.
