    Porter Cable Reciprocating Saw Problem

I have a corded Porter Cable reciprocating saw. Suddenly, i have a problem when attempting to insert a new blade. The process is turning a spring loaded collar around the chuck counter clockwise until the slots in the collar line up with the slot in the chuck. However, suddenly, the 2 sides of the chuck won't expand in opening width sufficiently to allow the blade to be put in. It's like something between the collar and chuck is preventing this. Has anyone had this problem? Thanks in advance for any help or ideas.

Bob, try giving the chuck a couple shots of WD-40. It worked on my Sawzall
