    thanks Bert!

Found a few of the issues causing you problems:
1- the 2 halves were not together, they were about .002" apart.
2- I found 2 extra lines that needed to be removed...

Once I found this out, it was pretty basic after that!

    Here's the steps I took:

    this is the original graphic...

This is the 2 halves separated 1". Note the extra line, which is .001" away from the main edge line,
the extra line was right on top of the left half edge line, meaning both halves were never touching.
As noted, I deleted the extra line...

Here I've separated the FIRST inner sections from the outer sections, and move them up 5"...

and HERE I've separated the SECOND inner sections from their outlines,
and move them up 5", then I move all sections back together, 1"--
NOTE the second extra line that was hiding, that line was deleted also.
The face and beard halves were good to go as there are no sections to weld.
BUT TO GET THE OTHER PAIR OF OUTLINES TO WELD, I had to close the gap
between them, and then I move the right halves to the left another .001",
I had to do this to get a full overlap....

    --They welded nicely--

I then moved each section back into position, combined the entire graphic, and painted it---

    ====================================
So, the whole problem was simply because there were 2 extra lines overlapping 'good' lines that had to be removed,
and the left and right halves weren't touching, and also needed to be overlapped slightly so it would weld completely.

Wow Kev I don't know how you figure this stuff out. I guess its just experience. I just don't understand corel all that well. I also forget stuff I learn thru guys like you cause I don't do it a lot. I do have a folder were I keep all the stuff you guys teach me. Thanks for this . I'll file it in my folder for the next time I run across this
