    After Harvey

After Harvey, the Galveston County Hurricane, a 12" folding Lufkin rule turned up. I had forgotten about it . It is wood and brass with a sliding thickness gage.
It is a Lufkin 988. I have no idea how old it is. I'm glad to have it back.
I inherited it from my daddy.

The sun is shining and it is in the 60's today. The street we live on two blocks, 0.3 miles long.
Many of the houses are vacant and no flood repair started. We carry FEMA coverage and our house has been stripped of sheet rock and totally replaced and painted.
We have new furniture and are comfortable.

Of course, the contractor was my oldest son. He is doing several of the houses on our street.
He has a long trailer that is parked in the drive way while the sheet rock is stripped and replaced. The trailer is dumped in a nearby land fill.

I'm glad your house is sorted out and I hope your son is able to get the rest of the folks he is working for up and running as well. I have friends in Louisiana that have gone through hurricane floods more than once and I feel for you.
