Hackberry vases a pair

Showing Hackberry vases which came off my land in Central KS. Wind and storm fell. I watch these grow after 35 years in the same location.

These are approx. 5" x 7" You can see the bamboo on one and the Fill on the other which was crushed Coran.

You'll have a great memory from that tree. We just had to take down a hard maple I planted some thirty years ago. I hope I can make some nice pieces like you did out of ours. Really nice forms!

IMG_1728.jpgVery nice work. We have a lot of Hackberry here in North Texas and I have turned quite a bit of it. I like it after it has spalted and I bleach it. It turns out very white and the bleach does not affect the spalting.

That is one beautiful piece John, a keeper. I like what you did with the neck and like you said kept the spalting.
